History
Ackerman Cancer Center is the culmination of Dr. Scot Ackerman’s desire to provide exemplary cancer care to patients from all walks of life. Joining with others who share his core principles, the Center was established as a place where patients have access to first class equipment and receive extraordinary care delivered with the dignity, compassion and respect all individuals deserve.
Jul 1988
Dr. Ackerman moved to Jacksonville, joined St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Jul 1995
Dr. Ryan Perkins joined the practice.
May 1997
First Coast Oncology opened in Mandarin.
May 1998
First Coast Oncology opened in Amelia Island.
Oct 1999
Dr. Paul Ossi joined the practice.
Sep 2008
First Coast Oncology in Mandarin expands office.
Apr 2014
Dr. William Peters joined the practice.
Sep 2014
First Coast Oncology changes name to Ackerman Cancer Center.
Apr 2015
Ackerman Cancer Center becomes the first private, physician-owned practice to offer proton therapy, internationally.
Sep 2016
Dr. Babita Jyoti joined the practice.

Dr. Gaelyn Scuderi joined the practice.
