High-risk human papillomavirus causes about 5% of all cancers worldwide, with an estimated 570,000 women and 60,000 men getting an HPV-related cancer each year.

HPV can cause several types of cancers including cervical, vulvar, vaginal, penile, anal, rectum and oropharyngeal.

This week Dr. Scot Ackerman joins WJXT to discuss the most common sexually transmitted infection, HPV, and how you can lower your chance of getting infected.
