Addressing Racism in Healthcare- “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.”
As our country continues to wake up to the subtle and not-so-subtle ways racism remains in our lives and our institutions, it is important to point out how it impacts us so that we can explore ways to make it better. Dr. Paul Clark is a psychologist and a licensed social worker, and the staff psychologist for Ackerman Cancer Center. He penned a great essay exploring the ways racism impacts healthcare in an effort to start a larger conversation about what we can do to move forward.
