What to Expect
Ackerman Cancer Center provides comprehensive, patient-centric cancer care that addresses your unique financial, social, emotional, and physical needs.
Who you will meet
Whole-patient care starts on day one. During your first appointment at Ackerman Cancer Center, you will meet with your physician, as well as a support team dedicated to providing comprehensive care through every aspect of your cancer treatment.
Your First Appointment
Oncology Social Workers
After your initial consultation and throughout the course of your treatment, an oncology social worker will connect with you to provide proactive and compassionate support services – from introducing you to a member of our BEAM Team, to assistance with transportation and housing costs, to coping with the emotional impact of your cancer diagnosis. These incredible team members are available and accessible to patients, families, and caregivers.
Oncology Certified Nurses
Our oncology certified nurses have received advanced training in the complex field of cancer care. They work directly with our physicians to ensure seamless service throughout your treatment.
Financial Counselor
A cancer diagnosis often comes with additional stress due to financial constraints. Our number one goal is to make sure you get the treatment you need; our financial counselors provide the information, advice, and guidance to ensure the insurance and fiscal aspects of your cancer diagnosis support that goal.
