Thyroid Disease
Thyroid Disease
Many thyroid conditions, including Graveβs disease, hyperthyroidism, and goiters, can be successfully treated with radiation therapy.
Thyroid Disease Treatment
The most common noncancerous thyroid conditions are abnormal production of thyroid hormones. Radiation therapy is a permanent, reliable treatment for hyperthyroidism, goiters, and Graveβs disease. If you are interested in learning more about radiation therapy for your thyroid disorder, call us at 904-880-5522.
Treatments
Treatment for benign thyroid conditions may include antithyroid medications, surgery, or radioactive iodine therapy. 3-D External Beam Radiation or Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy may also be used to treat the thyroid.
The board-certified radiation oncologists at Ackerman Cancer Center work closely with each patient to develop a radiation treatment plan designed to produce the most optimal results for those with thyroid disease.
