A woman with curly hair, wearing red glasses, gold hoop earrings, and a red blouse, is engaged in conversation with an older man in a white medical coat and a patterned red tie. The man has light-colored hair and a mustache, and his coat has a logo and text on it. They are seated on orange chairs in front of a blue window with white framing.

Dr. Ryan Perkins is a Board-Certified radiation oncologist who instituted the first prostate seed implant program in Jacksonville in 1996, shortly after arriving in Florida following the completion of his residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His cancer research has been published and presented at national and international meetings.

Dr. Perkins is an active member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the American College of Radiology. He plays a vital role at Ackerman Cancer Center by guiding the Center’s comprehensive support programs and serving the community through dedicated volunteer work with the North Florida Council of Boy Scouts.

A native of Kaysville, Utah, where he developed a lifelong love of fishing, Dr. Perkins completed
both his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. In his
free time, he cherishes moments with his 11 grandchildren and pursues a wide range of outdoor
activities and sports, including in-shore saltwater fishing, kayaking, backpacking, hiking, skiing,
