
Dr. Scot Ackerman is a Board-Certified radiation oncologist, the Medical Director of Ackerman Cancer Center, founder of the Ackerman Cancer Foundation, and the Medical Director of Ackerman Urology. After completing his training at Columbia University in New York City, he came to Jacksonville and has been in private practice for more than 35 years. He serves as an integral force in advancing cancer care across Florida. Before founding Ackerman Cancer Center in 1997, he served as Chief of Radiation Oncology at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Throughout his career, Dr. Ackerman has been recognized for his dedication to providing exceptional healthcare to the Jacksonville community. He received the 2023 We Care Jacksonville, Inc. Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2016 We Care Jacksonville Award of Philanthropy for his ongoing commitment to ensuring high-quality care is accessible to all residents.
Dr. Ackerman currently oversees the Ackerman Cancer Foundation and was appointed to the
Florida Board of Medicine by Governor Ron DeSantis. He also works alongside the First Lady of
Florida, Casey DeSantis, as part of the Florida Cancer Connect Collaborative.
